Priority Matrix allows you to reply directly to specific messages in your chats, making it easier to maintain context in your conversations. This guide will walk you through how to use the reply-quote feature. This is particularly useful when you need to respond to an earlier message in a conversation where the context may have shifted.

For example, imagine you’re in a project chat discussing the launch of a new product. Early in the conversation, a team member asks about the marketing budget. The discussion then moves on to product features and timeline. Later, when you have the budget information, you can use the reply-quote feature to respond directly to the earlier budget question. This ensures your response is clearly linked to the original query, even though the conversation has moved on to other topics.

Initiating a Reply

There are three ways to reply to a specific message:

  1. Double-click: Double-click on the message you want to reply to.
  2. Right-click menu: Right-click on the message and select the “Reply” option from the context menu.
  3. Slide-left gesture: On touch devices, slide your finger from right to left on the message box to reveal the reply option.

Tips for Effective Use

  • Use reply-quotes when addressing specific points or questions in a long thread.
  • Reply-quotes are helpful for keeping conversations organized, especially in group chats.
  • When replying to an older message, the reply-quote feature ensures other chat participants understand the context of your response.
  • In fast-moving discussions, use reply-quotes to keep multiple conversation threads clear and separate.

By using the reply-quote feature, you can enhance communication clarity and efficiency within Priority Matrix, ensuring that important points and questions don’t get lost in the flow of conversation.
