Whether you’re juggling projects at work or organizing personal endeavors, effective task management is crucial for success. That’s where the Priority Matrix inbox comes into play, offering a versatile and user-friendly platform for managing your tasks efficiently across various devices. This brief guide helps you make the most of the Priority Matrix inbox. From creating and managing tasks to integrating with other applications, we’ve got you covered with step-by-step instructions, tips, and direct links to useful resources.
But before we get started, let us review what’s the PM inbox and what it can be used for:
- Unassigned Tasks/Items: Tasks that appear in the inbox can be managed like regular tasks – they can be moved into any project and quadrant, or they can remain in the inbox with options like setting due dates, reminders, or reassigning to others.
- Creating Tasks:
- Inside the App: Use the blue + sign at the top of the screen, select “+ add item” and begin typing.
- Outside the App: You can email your secret inbox address, which you can obtain from this page, and simply send an email to your PM inbox
- Email Forwarding: Each user gets a unique email address for forwarding emails directly into the inbox, where they are differentiated by a green envelope icon, and the email’s subject and body become the task’s name and notes, respectively.
- Using a Browser Extension: Employ the Priority Matrix Google Chrome extension to capture internet content like documents and websites, and discover more ways to use this feature through the Chrome Extension guide. We also have extensions for Edge and Firefox.
- Sharing Individual Tasks: Assign tasks to others so they appear in their respective inboxes, without sharing the entire project.
Moving Tasks from Inbox to a Project:
- Choose the item in the Inbox.
- Use the “Move to…” option on the right panel.
- Follow steps to copy items if direct moving isn’t possible.
- Select the appropriate project and quadrant.
