Once you have a sizeable amount of data in Priority Matrix, it’s not uncommon to start seeing duplicate data, sometimes because you forward the same email twice to your PM account, or two people capture the same web link independently. The problem with this is that, if you’re not careful, you may end up having your teammates perform duplicate work, so it’s necessary to prevent duplicate item creation.
In Priority Matrix, when a new item is created, we look for other similar items in the same project, and if we find any, we report them automatically so that the user (you) can act appropriately, merging the items or deleting the duplicate. See in the animation below how this works in practice.
Thanks to this feature, if your team relies heavily on turning Outlook emails into tasks, you can rest assured that duplicate items will be found and squashed before they give you any trouble.
