Accountability is a key factor in ANY well-functioning team or business. An ideal system for managers allows you to know what employees are working on without looking over their shoulder.
Know what employees are working on
Knowing what your employees are working on is essential when it comes to keeping projects on schedule and creating a system for a accountability in your team
Priority Matrix provides a few key capabilities that allow you to do this without hovering.
Team Member Reports
Priority Matrix reports are the most effective way to understand what team members are working on.
- Firstly, each report will show you the distribution of where that employee spent their time during the past week. The thickness of each line in the graph represents the amount of work done in each project.
- Secondly, honing in on the employee further can show you the amount of tasks he or she completed/opened/left overdue within the past time period.
- Finally, drilling down further on that individual employee can give you a detailed list of the individual tasks they’ve spent their time on.

Project Overviews
Firstly, each project in Priority Matrix provides a visual dashboard of who is responsible for each task.
In the following project, based on the icons alongside each task, the distribution of work in the project is shown.
What’s more, we can use the system to “filter by team member”.
This will show ONLY projects that that specific team member is working on. Within each project, we can see what that person’s exact responsibilities are, without the noise of other peoples’ tasks.
Master List – One More Way
Using the Master list, which provides an overview of all projects and tasks in the system, you can filter by team member to see each of their individual tasks.
Apply a time-filter, such as “due next week” or “overdue” to drill down even further.
You can even create custom filters for easy access in the future.
Reduce Meetings
With so much information ready at your fingertips, Priority Matrix can actually help managers and teams reduce the number of meetings that they have.
Try using Priority Matrix reports in place of a morning meeting, and free up time in your schedule for more important tasks!
Conclusion
As a manager, it is essential to know what employees are working on.
Using these tools will provide you with both the high-level and nitty gritty details as to what your team is focused on and where they have been spending their time.
